Our history

Brown's Tree Service has been family owned and operated since the early 70's. Richard "Brownie" Brown owned the business until February 2000, at which time Troy Brown purchased the business from his dad. "Brownie" still estimates and sprays trees for the business. He is a great advisor.

Troy grew up in the business working for Brownie and had taken an 11 years break to work for Hayden Tower Service. At 29 years old, he had gotten married and had a baby on the way and wanted to be home with his new family. Brownie was ready to go into semi-retirement so the timing was right.

Troy has built the business from one crew and three employees to three fully functioning crews and twelve employees. We have helped with several disaster relief projects over the years including Hurricane Charlie in Kissimmee, FL, Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans, Hurricane Isaac in Texas and most recently Hurricane Sandy in New York. We have assisted with tornado relief in Joplin and ice storms in Kansas City, Springfield, North Carolina and Wichita.

Troy's brother Travis is also still involved in the business as a Crew Foreman. Troy's mom, Wilma, also helps manage the office. Brown's Tree Service is still very much a family owned and operated business.
